Hello friends, welcome to my blog. Today, I’m going to tell you about very important news, which is relevant to all unemployed young people in West Bengal. Obviously, you must have heard about the Bekar Bhata Scheme or the unemployment allowance scheme. The correct name of the scheme recently declared in the year 2026 is actually “Banglar Yuva Sathi.” But people are searching for it as the Bekar Bhata Scheme 2026 in West Bengal only.
Bekar Bhata Scheme 2026
So, friends, if you are also one of those young people who is sitting at home without a job after finishing studies, then this article is really important for you. The Mamata Banerjee government is going to launch this new scheme through the interim budget of 2026-27. Now, through this new scheme of Bekar Bhata, the government is going to provide Rs 1500 to the youth who is unemployed. This is really big relief for those families who have educated youth but are unable to provide them with jobs.

The Finance Minister of our state, Chandrima Bhattacharya, has declared that this Bekar Bhata Scheme would begin from 15th August 2026. However, note that all this would be possible only if the TMC government manages to come to power after the assembly elections. This government has earmarked Rs 5,000 crore for this particular scheme. This proves that they are genuinely interested in helping the unemployed youth of our country.
Many people were asking me about the difference between this old Yuvasree Scheme and the new Bekar Bhata Scheme. Yet the amount was the same in the case of the old Yuvasree Scheme, which was Rs 1,500, and the age group was also different. In the old scheme, the minimum age was 18 years and the maximum was 45 years, whereas in the new Bekar Bhata Scheme 2026, the age group is going to be 21-40 years. This new scheme is for those who are at least passed the secondary level (class 10).
Bekar Bhata Scheme Age Limit
Coming to the age limit, so earlier it was 18 to 45 years of age, i.e., for the old Yuvashree scheme, and now the age limit has been changed. So now, in order to apply for this new Bekar Bhata Scheme 2026, you must be between 21 and 40 years of age. Yeah, they have increased the lower age limit from 18 years to 21, and this is a bit disappointing, but what can we do? That is how the rules are. And you must have cleared at least class 10th (Madhyamik) in order to apply.
Bekar Bhata Allowance Amount
Now coming to the main part – how much money you will get? So, the government will give you Rs. 1,500 as an allowance. I know it is not a big amount, like it is actually not enough to spend in the city, nevertheless, something is always better than nothing, right? Now, the money will be directly transferred to your bank account via DBT. Just ensure that your bank account is linked to Aadhaar, otherwise, you will face problems getting the cash.
