What is Banglar Yuva Sathi?
Banglar Yuva Sathi is a welfare scheme launched by the West Bengal government under the Sports and Youth Services Department. This scheme was officially announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on 5th February 2026 during the interim budget session for 2026-27.
The main goal of this scheme is to give monthly financial support to those young peoples of West Bengal who have passed their Madhyamik (10th class) exam but are still unemployed and searching for jobs. The government wants to make sure that while these youth are looking for jobs or preparing for competitive exams, they should not face any financial problem.

Under this scheme, each eligible beneficiary will get Rs. 1,500 per month directly into there bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) method. This support will continue for maximum 5 years or until the person gets a suitable job – whichever comes first. So in total, one can get maximum Rs. 90,000 under this scheme over the full tenure.
The government has estimated that around 27 to 28 lakh unemployed youth in West Bengal can benefit from this scheme. The applications are being taken through special enrollment camps called “Swanirbhar Bangla Camps” across all 294 Assembly constituencies of the state.
