Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana 2026 Apply Online, Eligibility, Starting Date

This Holi season, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta gave a very special gift to the daughters of Delhi. On 2nd March 2026, during the first anniversary celebration of the Delhi government, President Draupadi Murmu was also present when CM Rekha Gupta officially launched the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana. Along with this, she also announced a free LPG cylinder scheme specially for Holi and Diwali festivals.

This was truly a big moment for every family in Delhi that has daughters. The government made it very clear that no daughter in Delhi should have to leave her studies just because of a lack of money. In this article, we will explain everything about the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana — what it is, who can apply, what documents are needed, what the benefits are, and how to apply online.

What is Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana?

Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana is a new government scheme launched specially for the daughters of Delhi. In very simple words the government deposits money in the name of your daughter at different stages of her education. And when she completes her graduation, she gets more than 1 lakh rupees directly in her bank account in one go.

Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana

This scheme has replaced the old “Ladli Yojana” which was started back in 2008. CM Rekha Gupta clearly mentioned that the old Ladli Yojana was not working properly and around 1.86 lakh daughters had their money sitting unclaimed. So the government completely reformed the whole scheme and gave it a new name — Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana. The total financial assistance has also been increased from Rs. 36,000 to Rs. 56,000. When this amount is invested as a Fixed Deposit, the maturity amount at the time of graduation will be more than Rs. 1 lakh.

The Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana will be officially implemented from 1st April 2026 and the entire process will be fully online and paperless.
