Bihar Jeevika Samuh is also known as self-help groups (SHGs) of women made under the Jivika project. This project is part of the Bihar rural livelihood project (BRLP), started under the Bihar government rural development department. The whole project is supported by the World Bank. Initially, this project was started in 2007. The purpose behind the launch of this initiative is to reduce rural poverty and provide empowerment to women who are a part of the SHGs community organisation. Benefits Of Jeevika Samuh Members
- Members of the Jeevika Samuh group are eligible to take low-interest-rate loans and, in some cases, interest-free loans from their own self-help group.
- Members are eligible to access bank loans through the Bank linkage program without giving any collateral.
- Revolving funds, which come from community Investments and government, are used for income generation.
- Every member of the self-help group has to contribute a small monthly savings, which they can use in the future.
