Unga Kanava Sollunga Scheme Registration 2026, Benefits, Eligibility

Hello friends, today I am writing about one very important scheme that our Tamil Nadu government has started recently. I think you all are aware of this Unga Kanava Sollunga scheme, which is coming in the news and TV. It is a very big scheme initiated by our Chief Minister M.K. Stalin sir on 9th January 2026 from Ponneri in Tiruvallur district.

Actually, what is this scheme? Just say, the government is reaching your home and asking, “What is your dream?” Yes, you are listening correctly. Government people are reaching your doorstep and asking for your dreams for your family, for your areas, and for the Tamil Nadu state. This kind of thing is happening for the first time in India, I think.

Unga Kanava Sollunga Scheme

The name Unga Kanava Sollunga means “Tell Your Dreams” in Tamil. Simple name, no? This scheme is very big. Around 50,000 volunteers are visiting 1.9 crore houses in Tamil Nadu. Can you imagine? 1.9 crore families! This is biggest survey type programme I have seen.

Chief Minister Stalin sir said he is going to make the “Vision 2030” document based on what people are telling. Whatever you are dreaming-good school for children, hospital in the village, job for youth, a road for your street- the government is collecting all this and will try to do it before 2030.

Benefits of the Unga Kanava Sollunga Scheme

This scheme has been made, considering lots of benefits for the common people like us. Now, let me tell you one by one.

  • Your Voice Will Reach the Government Directly: Earlier, we have to visit the government office to express what our problems are. Now the government is coming to my home.
  • Vision 2030 Document: Whatever dreams you tell, they will make one big plan for Tamil Nadu till 2030. So your dream can become state policy.
  • Unique Dream Card: Immediately after the survey, you will get one card containing a QR code. You can scan that any time to see the status of your dream. Modern technology!
  • Budget Planning: The suggestions collected through Unga Kanava Sollunga will be used in the state budget. So, money will be spent on what people actually want, not what officers think.
  • Seven Areas Development: CM said, this will develop seven things: rural and city infrastructure, Tamil language and culture, education and skills, society development, farming and fishing, jobs, and industries.
  • Youths Portal: 11th January 2026, a separate website was launched for young people aged 15 to 29 years. They can tell their dreams online too.
  • NRI Can Also Participate: From 12th January, non-resident Tamils can also give their suggestions. So, people living in foreign lands can also help in the development of Tamil Nadu.

Documents Required

Actually, friends, this is not like other schemes where you need to give loads of documents. This is a survey type program. But still, when volunteers come to your house, you should keep some basic things ready:

  • Ration Card or Aadhaar Card – to be shown that you are resident of that house.
  • Family Details: how many members in the family, their age, occupation etc.
  • Mobile Number – for registration and to get updates
  • Address Proof – if you have any bill or document showing your address.

That is all. Very simple. No need for income certificate, no need for community certificate, no need for complex documents like other schemes.

How Unga Kanava Sollunga Works?

The process is very simple friends. Let me explain:

First, volunteers of Women Self Help Groups should visit your home for two times. One time, they should give you a form. In the form, you should write your dreams and your family information. Second time, they should come and collect the form. After that, they should provide you a Dream Card with a unique number.

They are using mobile app for recording everything. So Very High-Tech! The survey has 9 categories, covering 65 existing schemes implemented by the Govt. They want to know what schemes are helping you currently and what new things you want!

The budget for the whole program is Rs. 43.52 crore. Out of the total budget, Rs. 21 crore is given to the Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women for the management of the volunteers.
