Bravery is in Indian blood. Indian Defence Forces are one of the largest and best forces in the world. Our Defence forces are made up of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Paramilitary forces. All forces save the country from any type of foreign attacks. They do their duty 24/7 on the borders. The Indian Government started the Veer Gatha project to give a Tribute and gratitude to gallantry award winners. This is the 5th edition, and school students participate in this program and give information about these award winners.
Veer Gatha Project
The Veer Gatha project was started in 2021 under the gallantry award portal, also known as GAP. This project was started with the mission to spread information about the bravery of the gallantry award and also share their life stories and brave works among students. This will raise patriotism and values of civic consciousness in students. In Veer Gatha 5.0, students from all over India can participate.
They will get a chance to do their creativity projects and activity they make on the gallantry award winners. Students can show their activity in the form of art, poetry, essay writing and use multimedia to make their project better for everyone. The best project will get an award from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education.
प्रोजेक्ट वीर गाथा 5.0 2021 में शुरू किया गया एक प्रोग्राम है जिस की गैलंट्री अवॉर्ड पोर्टल के अंतर्गत शुरू किया गया है. इस प्रोग्राम को शुरू करने का मुख्य उद्देश्य भारत के वीरता पुरस्कार प्राप्त करने वाले बहादुर जवानों की जीवन कहानी एवं उनके बारे में विवरण के ऊपर जागरूकता को बढ़ाना है. इस प्रोजेक्ट में स्कूल के छात्र हमारे वीरता पुरस्कार विजेताओं के ऊपर अलग-अलग गतिविधियां, प्रोग्राम को एक मंच पर प्रस्तुत करेंगे. इस प्रोग्राम में छात्र वीरता पुरस्कार विजेताओं के ऊपर निबंध, मल्टीमीडिया कविता एवं कला के माध्यम से अपनी प्रस्तुतियां दे सकते हैं. प्रथम वर्ष जब इस प्रोग्राम शुरू किया गया था उसे समय इसमें लगभग 8 लाख छात्रों ने भाग लिया था जो कि अभी बढ़कर 2024 25 में 1.76 करोड़ पहुंच गया है. इस प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेने के लिए ऑनलाइन रजिस्ट्रेशन की सुविधा उपलब्ध है.
Veer Gatha 5.0 Registration
The Veer Gatha project is organised every year with a public Day. Initially, when this project was started in 2021 with its first edition 1.0, it was very successful at that time. In the first edition, 8 lakh students participated. After that, in the next year 2022, 19.5 Lakh, in the year 2023, 1.37 Crore and last year 2024, 1.76 Crore students participated in this project. So it is estimated that in Veer Gatha 5.0 near about 2 crore participants will register for this project. If you want to participate in the new edition, then you have to do the Veer Gatha 5.0 registration online.

Like every year Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education start Veer Gatha 5.0 for 2025-26. All interested participants can register for this before the 31st of October 2025. The registration has already started from the 10th of October, and applications are now accepted online.
Topics and Categories of Veer Gatha 5.0

Winners are selected on every level. are total hundred winners will be selected, also called as Super 100 on the national level. The 100 Veer Gatha 5.0 winners are divided as:-

Prize, Benefits and facilities for winners
Winners were selected in Veer Gatha 5.0, which will be facilitated jointly by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education under the Government of India.
- In this project, each winner will get a cash prize of 10000 Rupees.
- A certificate is also given to the winners.
- Students selected in the super hundred will get a certificate from the Ministry of Defence and the Minister of Education jointly.
- Students who are selected at the state or UT level will get a certificate from the principal secretary or secretary of education of their state.
- Students who are selected on the district level will get certificates from the district collector or district magistrate or deputy commissioner, or any other higher official appropriate to present this award.
Veer Gatha 5.0 School Registration Online
The Veer Gatha 5.0 entry submission has already started from the 10th of October, and the last date is the 31st of October. If you want to participate in this project, then prepare your project and then visit the official website to submit it.

- On the homepage, you will see a Submit Your Entry link.
- Now you will be directed to my gov portal. You have to log in to this portal with your credentials if you are already a registered member; if not, then register with your phone number, email ID, Facebook ID, etc.
- When you successfully register/sign in on the MY Gov Portal, you have to fill in some details.
- Initially have to fill in personal details like the type of School Board, the mobile number of the principal. UDISE Code, management of school, district name, principal name, email ID of principal, etc. Then click on the next button.
- Now you have to select the class category.
- In this category, you have four options. These categories are class 3rd to 5th, class 6th to 8th, class 9th to 10th and class 11th to 12th.
- Now select your activity, in which you want to participate, then upload the activity in the form of a picture, enter your topic name, language, and after the student’s father, or guardian’s name and date of birth. Also, enter your gender, the total number of students participating from classes 3rd to 5th, and finally click on the submit button.
- Now your Veer Gatha 5.0 registration process is completed. If your entry is selected, then you will be informed.

This project is to spread information about the bravery of our gallantry award winners who show their bravery for India. This will also encourage patriotism in students when they read about the gallantry awardee. In Veer Gatha, students read about any gallantry a body and then make a poem/essay/Painting on it and submit online. Winners will get a cash award and a certificate.
This project is working under the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education.
