This is a very good opportunity for the employed youth, in which they get employment through the E Rickshaw Scheme. Eligible beneficiaries of Assam will get free E Rickshaw and mopeds from the government. This scheme helps in the generation of self-employment and income for youth.

Beneficiaries who receive e-rickshaws and mopeds can use them to generate jobs. With the help of e rickshaws, they can use them as commercial vehicles and earn money. Guidelines for E Rickshaw and Moped Scheme
- Applicant age should be between 25 to 50 years on 1st of January 2025.
- Selected beneficiaries will get e rickshaw / moped at free of cost by the side of Assam Linguistic Minority Development Board.
- Eligible applicants can apply for only one item, e rickshaw or a moped.
- Applications are accepted from the 1st of December to the 30th of December 2025
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant should be a permanent resident of Assam state and presently residing in Assam.
- Applicants are only eligible if they belong to the linguistic minority community. Religious minorities like Muslims/Buddhists/Sikhs/Jains/Christians/Parsis are not eligible.
- Applicant cannot give their e rickshaw / moped for rent or lease.
- The beneficiary person cannot sell their e rickshaw or moped within the three years of allotment. If anyone is found to do that, legal action will be taken against them.
- The family income of the applicant is less than 3 lakh rupees per year.
- Applicants have to produce their income certificate/BPL card in front of the circle officer or Mauzadar if selected for the scheme.
- The selection of the applicant depends on the population of linguistic minorities. After receiving all the applications draw will be organised.
- An e rickshaw will be provided for commercial purposes to use as a source of income.
- Mopeds will be used to generate employment by using them with app-based services like Ola, Uber or Rapido.
Non Eligible
- If the applicant is a current member of a Panchayati Raj institution or any urban local body are not eligible.
- Government employees / retired officers are not eligible
- Employees of cooperative societies are not eligible.
- Professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, registered government contractors and architects are not eligible.
- Income taxpayers are not eligible.
- Farmers having more than 50 bighas of agricultural land are not eligible.
- If the family owns a tractor, then not eligible.
- If the family own any four-wheeler or Merchandise boat, then not eligible.

There is no registration fee to apply for the scheme.

Assam Linguistic Minority Development Board E Rickshaw Scheme Apply Online
- To apply for the Assam e rickshaw scheme under the Assam linguistic minorities development board, visit the official website: www.linguisticminority.in
- On the homepage, you will see all the guidelines mentioned for applicants and basic information about the scheme.
- When is scroll down, then see applicant form fill up option.
- Select this option, and then a new page will open in which you have to select an item (distribution of moped/ distribution of e rickshaw).
- Select your choice, and then the application form will open on your screen.
- Enter details like applicant name, father or Guardian name, mobile number, gender, complete address, area police station, select state and district name, pin code, date of birth and Aadhaar number in the form.
- In the qualification section, enter your qualification.
- The next section is other information in which you have to select a religion, community name, your age on 1st of January 2025 and family annual income.
- The last section is uploading documents. In this part, you have to upload your Aadhar card copy, voter ID or PAN card and driving licence. The soft copy size is not more than 500 KB.
- Now click on the Summit button. Now you will receive a 6-digit OTP on your mobile number.
- Enter that OTP into the website, and then you will receive an OTP verification successful pop-up on your screen.
- Now you can download the application slip, and your online application process is completed.

Selection Process
- Selection for the E rickshaw or Moped scheme is based on the population of the linguistic minority in your district.
- After that, a draw will be organised by the competent authority after the scrutiny of all the applications received.
- The draw winner-wise selection list will be updated on the official website.
