Hey friends, today I want to tell you about one very good scheme that our Kerala government has started for youth like us. You know how much tension we are having when we finish our study and are sitting at home preparing for PSC exams or some skill courses? The major problem is the money problem, right? We have to buy books, pay coaching fees, and traveling expenses – everything is costing so much. That is why our Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sir has launched this Chief Minister’s Connect to Work Scheme on January 19th, 2026. This is very useful for unemployed youth, who want to get a job.
Chief Minister’s Connect To Work Scheme
So, in short, it is a financial assistance program for boys and girls between the age of 18 to 30 years. If you are preparing for any competitive exam like UPSC, Kerala PSC, Banking exams, Railway exams, etc., or any skill development program, then the government is ready to give you Rs.1,000 every month for the next 12 months. Not bad, right? At least we can manage our tea and bus charges. The government is planning to give this facility to a total of 5 lakh youngsters. But the first batch of 10,000 people has already been selected. I saw in the news that they have already transferred the amount to the accounts of 9,861 people.

Eligibility Criteria for Youth
- Now, coming to the eligibility criteria. First and foremost, you must be a permanent resident of Kerala. So, no use if you are from another state.
- Then, your age must be between 18 to 30 years. You must have completed Plus Two, or ITI, or Diploma, or Degree, or whatever. It doesn’t matter what you have completed.
- Along with that, your family income must be below ₹5 lakh. Earlier, it was below ₹1 lakh, but then they increased it to ₹5 lakh, which is good, as today even the middle-class people are struggling to manage their expenses.
- One more important thing to be noted is that if you are already drawing some other scholarship from the government or if you are already drawing some pension, then no use applying for this. Also, if you are already a government employee, no use applying.
- Those who are preparing for entrance exams like NEET, JEE, etc., no use applying. This is only for the people who are preparing to attend job preparation exams.

Benefits of This Scheme
The first and foremost benefit of this scheme is the financial assistance of ₹1,000. This amount may be small for some people, but for poor family students, this is a big relief. This amount can be used for purchasing study materials, exam fees, or for traveling. This scheme is giving confidence to the youngsters that the government is with them in their hard time when they are searching for jobs.
The second benefit of this scheme is that there is no middleman. This amount is directly transferred to your account through DBT. Also, this amount is provided for a maximum of 12 months. This means you have one-year financial assistance for your preparations.
