In the state of Assam, there is a scheme which is launched to provide the monthly financial assistance to the girl students, i.e. Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Babu Asoni Scheme, with the help of which the equal opportunity to provide education to them. Now the same scheme balances the gender equality; a scheme for male students was also launched for 2026, which is also known as Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Babu Asoni Scheme. Under this scheme state government provides the monthly financial benefits to male students every month. All male students who enrolled in Undergraduate 1st Year and Post Graduate 1st Year will receive the same benefits.
The financial benefits are going to be distributed to all the male students from 1st February 2025. The amount under this scheme will be distributed to them through the DBT system. All the beneficiaries who are going to receive the payment of this Scheme can check online. Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Babu Asoni
Recently, at the time of assembly polls, the CM of the state launched the new financial aid scheme for the male students of the state with the name of “Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Babu Asoni Scheme 2026”. All the male students who belong to the low-income group with an annual income Rs.4 Lakhs or less than 4 Lakhs will be eligible to get the monthly Payment. Under this scheme, eligible Male students will get a monthly payment of Rs. 1,000 to Rs.2,000 every month. And the government start distributing the same payment from February 2026.
Why This Scheme Launched?
In the state of Assam, there is already a scheme running which is known as Nijut Moina Scheme in which the government encourage Girl students to continue their higher studies. It will also help the dropout rate and early child marriage. So now provide the equally gender opportunities, the government now introduced the Babu Asoni Scheme. from the month of February 1st, all the postgraduate and undergraduate students will receive the benefits.
Payment Release
- For Post Graduate: In this scheme, all the male students who are studying in post-graduate or enrolled in PG Course 1st Year will be eligible to get the Payment of Rs 2,000 per month. This amount will be given for a maximum of 10 months. It means every boy will going to received total Rs.20,000 per year.
- Undergraduate: Apart from the above, the first-year UG Candidates will get Rs.1,000 per month. This amount is also given for 10 years, i.e. total Rs.10,000/-.
Note: Government not going to give any kind of incentive.
Eligibility Criteria
In the girls’ scheme, all the girls will be entered in the same scheme. But now, in the Babu Asoni Scheme government set the eligibility conditions as per their family income, which is given below.
- All the permanent resident male students will be eligible for this scheme.
- You must belong to the EWS families of Assam state.
- The annual income of the family of the Boy must be below Rs. 4 Lakhs to be able to get the benefits of the scheme.
- Government employee or their family members are not going to be covered in this scheme.
- Boys must be enrolled as regular students in the Undergraduate 1st year or Post Graduate 1st Year in any of the government or government approved institute.
- Married students who are in Post Graduate course are not eligible for the scheme.
- Undergraduate students who are availing the benefits under the Banikanta Kakati Meri Award scheme are also not eligible for the scheme.
- And the students who are also getting the benefits from the CM Jibon Prerna Scheme are not eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.

- Income certificate of the Family
- Admission of 1st year
- Front page of your Bank passbook photocopy
Assam Babu Asoni Scheme Application Process
There are two separate application form are available for the PG Students and UG Students. You can fill out the application form as per your needs.
- After taking the printout of the application form, you have to fill in your correct data and then complete it by attaching the documents to the form. The head of the institution will need to check the complete form with the documents.
- Visit the official website and download the application form.
- After receiving the Babu Asoni Form from the students need to verify the data and then submit the same for auto verification in the SAMARTH Portal.
- It is important to submit the income certificate to verify the income criteria of the form.
- The Head of the institute selects the two Teachers to implement this scheme in their institute.
- Then parents will also have to choose their sons to avail the benefits of this scheme.
- Officials of the institute also ensure to attend the regular classes in the school.
Babu Asoni Payment Mode
After selecting under this scheme, every eligible boy will receive the monthly payment through the DBT (Direct Benefits Transfer) Mode.
How to Check Assam Babu Asoni Payment Status?
- From 1st February, the monthly payment amount is going to be credited to the bank account of the boys.
- Then the amount is directly credited to the given bank account of the beneficiaries. It is important to check the account details.
- Then, after 1st February 2026, if you haven’t received the payment, then you need to check the following information, such as bank account details Application form.
- Because if you enter wrong or incomplete information, then you will not be able to receive the payment.
- After it is all good, then go to the concerned bank branch and make an entry in your bank passbook.
