The state government of Odisha is now rolling out the new scheme in which they provide the financial help of Rs 51,000 for the brides of Odisha. This scheme is called ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibah Yojana’. It means all the eligible girls who are going to become brides will going to receive a total of Rs 51,000 as financial assistance at the time of their marriage. Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana Odisha
To provide financial support to the economically weaker section families at the time of marriage of their daughter, the state government of Odisha introduced the new scheme on 5 December 2025. This scheme is introduced with the name of MKBY (Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana). In this scheme government having the government aims to reduce the financial burden of marriage for girls. And after getting the help from the side of the government, it will also raise the dignified, Lawful and socially responsible matrimonial practice in Odisha State.

Aim of Odisha Kanya Bibaha Yojana
The main motive to launch this scheme is to reduce the financial burden of the families at the time of the marriage of their daughter. Apart from it, the marriage of every girl must happen on time, not to be delayed due to a Lack of Money.
Duration of Scheme
As I already told you that the announcement of this scheme was made on 5 December 2025. From the same date, this scheme has been implemented all over the state. The scheme is operational from 2025-26 to 2029-30, which means the duration of the scheme is 5 years.

- Financial Incentive: Under this scheme Government provides a financial incentive at the to of marriage of the girl of RS.51,000, in which 35,000 rupees are directly transferred into the bank account of the bride through the DBT System.
- Motive: This scheme is also encouraging the widowed women for remarriage, supporting young women at the time of marriage, preventing child marriage or early age marriage and stopping the dowry system in the state.
- Marriage Registration: With this scheme, every couple can complete the marriage registration on time under the Odisha Marriage Acts.
- NGO or Community Help: In Case of financial pressure on the families, then this scheme also support all NGO and communities.
Odisha 51,000 Assistance Scheme for Bride Girl
Each eligible bride of the state who fulfils all the eligibility conditions of the scheme will going to get the total assistance amount of Rs 51,000 from the state government. Out of Rs 51,000, Rs 35,000 will be transferred to the beneficiary’s Bank account of the beneficiary through the Direct Benefits Transfer ( DBT) System. This will also ensure the transparency of the scheme and eliminate the middlemen.

- Rs 10,000:- at the time of marriage government also provide wedding gift of Rs.10,000 at the time of marriage.

At the time of marriage of the girls, the wedding gifts Worth Rs 10,000 will be given to the bride in which essential marriage items and included. These items will be given through Utkalika under the Handlooms, Textiles and Handicraft Department.

Eligibility Criteria of the scheme
- Both the couple, i.e. Bride and Groom, are permanent citizens of the Odisha State.
- The age must be 18 to 35 years for the Bride, and for the groom, it is 21 to 35 years.
- This scheme provides the benefits of the first-time marriage registration. But also promote the widow’s marriage.
- From each family, only one eligible bride is going to get the benefits of the scheme.
- No woman or girl will get the marriage assistance from any kind of state or central Marriage scheme.
- In this priority, also be given to Widows, Disabled Brides, SC/ST Communities and Low-income group Families of the state.

Odisha Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana Application Process
To implement this scheme all over the state, the women and child development department has already sent the notification to all the District collectors for the implementation of the scheme. Then the application process will be conducted by the District collectors’ office. Then, after collecting the application form, the preferences will be given to the families who are already receiving support from the social security scheme.
