Objective of Joy Bangla Pension
- The scheme will provide financial assistance to the senior citizens, disabled individuals, widows and unprivileged persons.
- It will help to reduce poverty and help communities like the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and below poverty line.
- The pension amount will be given directly to the beneficiary’s bank account. It will minimise the delay process and eliminate corruption from the system.

Who is eligible for Joy Bangla Pension Scheme?
- West Bengal senior citizens aged 60 years are eligible.
- The applicant should be a permanent resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years.
- Applicants should belong to the below poverty line, SC, ST and marginalised groups.
- If any individual is already receiving a pension from any other government source, then the person is not eligible.
- Income taxpayers, government pensioners or persons who have any property or business are not eligible.
